Once first Greek travelers came to Georgia, they saw rich agricultural country and called it Geos – Georgia, the country of people working on land. Agriculture is an integral part of Georgian history, mentality and cultural heritage. It has played an important role in formation of the Georgian statehood and contributed much to its economic development. The country is divided into 13 zones, each with specialized agriculture oriented at viticulture, horticulture, fodder production, livestock production, tea growing, citrus, crops, and tobacco production. Farming is also very common in Georgia.

Day 1:
Arrival in Tbilisi; met and assisted at the airport.

Day 2:
Tbilisi; explore the old town. Visit Open-Air Ethnographical Museum and get acquainted with Georgian cuisine with all its abundance of locally grown nature products.

Day 3:
Tbilisi - Telavi; venture east to explore the main wine producing region of the country. Have a walk-in vineyards, visit Marani, special place to press the grapes and store wines; meet local wine makers and learn more about Georgian tradition of Qvevri wine making.

Day 4:
Telavi and surroundings; explore the cultural and religious highlights of the region; give a visit to honey maker and enjoy cheese tasting at one of local cheese productions.

Day 5:
Telavi - Tbilisi; drive to Tbilisi; en route visit one of the largest cattle farm of the region and taste ecologically clean and healthy dairy products.

Day 6:
Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Kutaisi; explore Mtskheta (UNESCO site), visit Jvari church (6th c) and Svetitskhoveli cathedral (11th c). Venture across fertile lands of Kartli Province. En route short stop at one of the numerous fruit gardens and orchants of area.

Day 7:
Kutaisi; explore former capital of western Georgia; Visit Gelati academy complex (UNESCO site; 11th c) and Bagrati cathedral. Enjoy local hospitality.

Day 8:
Kutaisi - Batumi; drive west to subtropics of the Black Sea shore. En route visit tea plantations and enjoy tea tasting. History of Georgian tea dates to 1848 when first 200 bushes were planted.

Day 9:
Batumi; beautiful and unique with its narrow streets, mixture of old and new Batumi is immersed in subtropical vegetation, surrounded by citrus plantations. Visit cultural highlight, meet locals and rest and relax after the long trip.

Day 10:
Departure; transfer to the airport.
